GREETING

Shibata city is located in the northern part of Niigata prefecture.

We are surrounded by beautiful rice fields in all directions. In the east, we enjoy the wonder of Mount Ninoji and the Iida mountain range. Shibata is blessed with a plethora of natural beauty. We also have a great access to a variety of fresh fish from Sea of Japan on our northwest coast.

We have a variety of temperature controlled sake breweries even though we do not have dramatic daily temperature changes during the long winter.
We first opened our doors here at Sushi Tokiwa in 1954. As time goes on, we are slowly changing but we have and always will continue to devote ourselves to our customers. We are dedicated to maintaining “umai” (delicious in Japanese ) in all the food we prepare. Our devotion to flavor and local food will never change.
